很久很久以前就好喜歡這首Down in the willow garden, 是由老鷹之歌其中一位主唱亞特葛芳柯Art Garfunkel所唱並收錄在他的個人專輯中. 這首歌曲的歌詞源自於十九世紀愛爾蘭的傳說而來的. 敘說一位富家年青人因害怕被婚姻牽綁, 而將他懷孕的愛人Rose Connelly給謀殺. 他先約她來到兩人常去的柳樹園, 甜言蜜語一番後, 利用她昏睡時以毒藥叄酒給她喝, 然後再以刀子刺殺她, 最後將她的血淋淋屍體丟入柳樹園下的溪河中. 事後年青人的父親對他兒子說他會以金錢來買回他的自由(意指脫罪), 但終究還是無法如願.
這首歌曲在早期又名Rose Connelly, 即被害女孩的名字. The Everly Brothers艾維利兄弟(雨中哭泣Crying in the rain主唱)在1958年也曾翻唱這首歌曲. Art Garfunkel則是在1973年灌製的. 二個版本都好好聽 !
